Adele Wants Third Album To Be Acoustic

Adele has revealed that she wants her third album to have more of an acoustic feel.

Fresh from the success of her sophomore record, 21, the Rolling In The Deep star has told Q magazine that her next LP will be more "acoustic and piano-led".

The 23-year old, who is rumoured to be in talks with Jay-Z about a collaboration, revealed to the publication: "I’ve accumulated some things to write about again. I’d go into the studio tomorrow if I could."

"It won’t be a big production. I want it to be quite acoustic and piano-led. I want to write it, record it, producer it all and master it on my own."

The Someone Like You hitmaker added: “I think it’ll take a lot longer because I want to do it this way. When I move house in the summer, my sound engineer is going to come and help me install a studio and teach me how to use it.”

As for whether she feels pressure to achieve the same success as 21 with it's follow-up, Adele claimed: "I don’t really care about expectations. There was enough of it with this record. If you deliver the songs I think you get away with it. I’m not bothered. I’m not expecting my next record to be as big as this one. That’s impossible.”

Last week, reports also suggested that Adele was forced to cancel a duet with Beyoncé at Glastonbury Festival, after suffering from a bout of laryngitis.

Willie Nelson, who was recently busted with six ounces of marijuana at a border stop in Sierra Blanca, received an unusual plea bargain offer from Hudspeth County attorney Kit Bramblett: No jail time and a small fine in exchange for performing “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” in court.

“It’s the judge’s decision whether or not to approve it, but that’s what I would offer,” Mr. Bramblett told The Big Bend Sentinel. “That’s the one I would request, and that would be his community service.”

Nelson has yet to comment on the offer.

Music group EMI in dire straits

EMI one of the worlds leading music companies is battlings for survival and faces being taken over by its bankers after failing to clinch a deal to sell the North American distribution rights for its artists to Universal Music Group or Sony Music.

The collapse of talks leaves EMI battling to raise 120 million pounds by mid-June to meet its commitments on loans from U.S. bank Citigroup. Another source familiar with discussions said that Terra Firma will talk to investors about raising the necessary funding.

If funds can't be raised from investors and the loan goes into default, Citigroup could seize EMI and cause it to be sold or broken up.

EMI has been struggling to stay afloat since it was bought by private equity firm Terra Firma Capital Partners for 4.2 billion pounds on the eve of the credit crunch in 2007, saddling the company with debt.

EMI's music publishing arm is thought to be worth about £1.2bn, although its music recording business is more difficult to value given the departure of big-name artists including the Rolling Stones and Radiohead.
The recorded music division was responsible for 55pc of EMI's £293m of profits last year.
