Paul Simon first gained world wide recognition as the writing talent behind the popular American folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel formed with fellow musician Art Garfunkel.
When Simon & Garfunkel split in 1970, Simon quickly began his solo career with the release of the self-titled album, Paul Simon. This was followed by There Goes Rhymin’ Simon and Still Crazy After All These Years, both of which featured chart-topping hits such as Loves Me Like A Rock and Kodachrome.
In 1986 Simon released the immensely popular Graceland, which featured the groundbreaking use of African rhythms and performers Ladysmith Black Mambazo. In 1990, he followed up Graceland with the successor album The Rhythm of the Saints which featured Brazilian and Cajun musical themes. These albums helped to popularize world music as a genre.

Ed Sheeran
So if you were watching Jools Holland last night, you'll have seen Ed Sheeran (previously mentioned here).
What a voice!! The rising star has signed a six-album deal with Atlantic Records and is due to release his debut album on the label in the summer. He's also set to appear in Friday nights Jools Holland to perform 2 tracks.
Download the 'One Take EP' here.
If you weren't watching it, he sang this track (waiting for tonights upload to appear).

An Horse
Anyone who’s ever punched a clock has a work buddy. If you’re lucky, they might be a true friend; someone you spend more time talking with than you do with your family, maybe even your partner. Imagine if the two of you had the chance to leave your jobs behind and go on a crazy, incredibly fun, sometimes stressful but ultimately mind-blowing two-and-a-half-year musical adventure across continents and time zones, racking up accolades from the likes of Rolling Stone, Spin, People and Pitchfork.
To the Australian indie-rock duo of Kate Cooper (singer/guitarist) and Damon Cox (drummer/singer), An Horse — who went from rehearsing after hours in a Brisbane record store to playing “Camp Out,” the single from their 2009 debut, Rearrange Beds, on The Late Show With David Letterman — making their second album, Walls, isn’t just a chance to set the agenda for their next phase. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the fantastical journey that has carried them here, a pipe dream made thrillingly real.

This will make your life a little better.
The trio formed in Boston in 2005 as “Wildlife”, and recorded an EP for Bodies Of Water Arts And Crafts. Soon after the release of that record the three of them moved together to San Francisco, where they added an extra “ild” to their name. They have released a couple records for Crucial Blast since then, “Six” and “Peas Feast”.
They released their album "Strike Hard, Young Diamond" last winter, but it only came to my attention last month.
Give it a listen here.
